Deer Park & Trout Pond

Close to the center of Bennington, the VVH is set on forty-plus acres of well-kept grounds and has more than 200,000 square feet of living space. The property also includes several barns from an earlier farm operation, some agricultural usage, a large stocked fish pond, deer park, public picnic area, and spacious grounds for walking and athletics. The VVH meets almost every need of its residents.
The deer park area includes a gazebo, a public picnic area used by residents and visitors alike, spacious lawns, shade trees, a small stream, a fish pond which is used both for fishing derbies and the water needs of the geothermal system, and a fenced area with a year-round herd of approximately ten white tail deer cared for by the VVH staff. The area is visited by thousands of people each year.
